PLOT

Martin Bryce (Richard Briers, The Good Life) is the king of  DIY,
a busybody know-it-all who tries  to run the community. He  is at
the hub of every committee,  campaign, and club in the  vicinity.
He's also a pompous bore.  His wife, Ann (Penelope Wilton),  is a
dedicated,  patient and  loving ally,  although she  is at  times
driven to despair by her husband's inability to relax and by  his
unawareness of her needs and expectations.

In Series 3, Martin is left to deal with a pile of manure, allows
fame to go to his head when performing a heroic act, and believes
he may have committed adultery.  He may finally have found  a way
to upstage his dashing and popular neighbour, Paul (Peter  Egan)
- but is a physical battle the best method?

Season 3, Ep 1: Manure

Martin  offers  to take  delivery  of Paul's  garden  manure, but
things go predictably and disastrously wrong. And Paul  compounds
Martin's worries when he effortlessly clears up the chaos  Martin
has created.
