traders eagerly introduce guns and other settlers' conveniences to the
tribes. Although Jacob Wheeler and his wife, Thunder Heart Woman, travel
to his home in Virginia, he determines to return to California. But when
the journey turns perilous, Jacob must make the ultimate sacrifice to save
his family.
