RIPPER'S NOTES: It seems NBC is still incapable of improving their
HDTV track record. The first segment of this
episode was HDTV and looked great, then at the
commercial break, they screwed up and aired the
rest of the episode letter boxed (which means side
bars too). This was a nation-wide fuckup by NBC
hq, so bark at them.
I've cropped it all out and made a full 16:9 encode
for you here. Truth be told, it still looks damn
good. After all, the source was coming straight
from NBC, not off an affiliates VHS recording of
the wildfeed, so it's crystal. Just not completely
HD (just the first 17min14sec was).
Anyway, we almost tagged this PDTV instead, but
since no one got a full HD broadcast, this is as
close as you'll get until it reairs. And as
further proof, here's a thread with people all over
the country bitching about NBC tonight.
