...The series continued to explore race relations through
its comedic story lines, and also featured a dazzling
array of guest stars, including the legendary Muhammad
Ali and baseball great Reggie Jackson. During the second
season, Arnold and Willis were officially adopted by Mr.
Drummond. Also, midway through the season, Mrs. Garrett
left the Drummonds to work at the Eastlake School for
Girls (as seen in the hugely successful spin-off TV series
"The Facts of Life"), and was replaced by Nedra Volz as
the new housekeeper, Adelaide Brubaker.
Finally, after just about forever, all rights/etc have
been cleared for the second season of one the best shows
from the 70s/80s of US television. Ahead of its time for
some of its subject matter, it is suprising it lasted as
long as it did. Certainly though, a lot can be learned
from the fate of the children who starred on this show.
They really made some screwy packaging on this one. First
the masters must have been pretty shitty as we get a
lovely vertical stripe down the left side of the video.
We cropped close to it to make it less noticeable. We did
not crop it off completely, as we wanted to leave as much
video as possible. Secondly they decided to make some eps
as two parts (like e1+e2) but e3 which is listed as a
single ep is a double length. Some groups like to assume
that double length eps were all created with commercial
breaks and credit closings for two seperate airings in
mind (they arent and taking the time to find production
codes helps assist in determining when this is indeed the
case) So we will follow the actual sets enumeration, and
some eps labled as only one, will be double length.
Some episodes run into the mid and high 20 something min
point, and these are 29.97, but with only using mono audio
and considerng the source quality, we used our discretion
as allowed and did them at 175mb.
Now we just need Facts Of Life, Enjoy :)
