PLOT
Nothing is what it seems behind the well-trimmed hedges of the
picturesque cottages in the idyllic English countryside of
Midsomer. Beneath the tranquil surface of sleepy village life,
there exist dark secrets, scandals and downright evil. Murder,
kidnap and blackmail are commonplace among the eccentric
inhabitants of Midsomer.
Midsomer Murders is a long running TV series of contemporary
murder mysteries, based on the award winning Inspector Barnaby
novels by mystery writer Caroline Graham, who the Sunday Times
describes as "the best detective writer since Agatha
Christie".
In each episode, the peacefulness of the Midsomer community is
shattered by violent crimes, suspects are placed under
suspicion, and it is up to Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby,
played by John Nettles, to calmly and diligently eliminate the
innocent and ruthlessly pursue the guilty.

This special documentary examines Inspector Barnaby his
methods and techniques of investigation, from his time in the
original novels through his translation to television.
Super Sleuth goes behind the scenes on Midsomer Murders
including interviews with stars John Nettles (Barnaby), Daniel
Casey (Troy), Jane Wymark (Joyce Barnaby) and Laura Howard
(Cully Barnaby) plus series producer Brian True-May, script
writer Anthony Horowitz and novelist Caroline Graham.
