A space shuttle returns from a mission and NASA discovers that something unusual has been picked up.
They discover that they have a shape changing alien in their holding tank that poses a danger to
all. The alien absorbs whatever it duplicates, including several of the NASA staff. Worse, it can
then access their memories and take on the form of anything they've experienced as well. The alien
manages to escape, to reveal that those within it are still conscious and desire to go with it as it
travels the universe.
