PLOT
Charlotte Bronte's literary masterpiece, Jane Eyre chronicles
the life of a strong, passionate young woman who survives a
miserable childhood to become governess to the children of the
troubled Mr Rochester. Her position soon leads to her to love
and admiration and eventually to marriage but with scandalous
consequences.
Jane Eyre remains one of Bronte's most popular novels, not
only because it is about love but also because it examines
issues such as human rights and self-realisation under the
most testing of circumstances. This superb BBC dramatisation
faithfully relates the original story with immaculate period
recreations and brilliant characterisations that have made
Jane Eyre one of the greatest romances in literature.
