Sakura has the same reoccurring dream, specifically focusing on a boy
wielding a sword in Chinese clothing. She hears from both Kero and
Yukito that it might be a "foretelling dream". A new transfer student
arrives from Hong Kong named Syaoran Li and is seated behind Sakura.
During recess, he demands the Clow Cards from her but is scared off
when Toya and Yukito appear. Kero explains to Sakura that Syaoran and
the Li family are direct descendants of Clow Reed, the cards' creator.
During a thunderstorm with no rain, Sakura encounters Syaoran who
displays superior magical powers. Together, they are able to subdue
the wolf-like Thunder Card, but Syaoran has no respect for Sakura.
