The dirname tells you pretty much all you need to know as
far as episode info goes.
With American Idol, the audio's the thing, so it needs
the original AC3, but it's impossible to pack the original
AC3 with reasonable video in a normal HDTV sized release,
so we bumped it up to 700, but then there was really some
extra bitrate to go around, so we decided to make it an
hr release.
But then the ep was so long, and the audio is 448kbps, so
right off the bat, video was 1770kbps, but it's also ntsc,
which means 25% more frames, 12:28.01 pm so the
effective bitrate on the video if you're gonna compare to
normal hr is 1300kbps. Maybe that other group that was
doing hr was onto something by incorrectly ivtc'ing these...
That led to the decision to make this hr, but not 960,528
hr... just some experienced rippers making decisions to
bring you the best product possible :)
BY THE WAY! The FQM release of this episode goes out of synch
about halfway through. Since tdx2002, yeah... that's right...
the last set of standards is now 3 years old... doesn't
allow a width as large as 716, we haven't labeled this as
a proper. Guess you'll just have to be on one of our fine
affiliated sites if you want a good release :)
