Mark Hoffman may go down in history as the greatest forger of all
time. At age 20, Hoffman claimed to discover an antique bible
belonging to the Grandfather of Joseph Smith, the founder of the
Mormon Church. Inside the book, he supposedly found the Anthon
Transcript, an extremely important Mormon document. The Church bought
the Transcript for $25,000 and Hoffman became a star amongst their
ranks.
