PLOT
John Thaw (Inspector Morse, The Sweeney) stars as Kavanagh Q.C.,
one of the most respected criminal law barristers in London.
Despite a northern working class background, James Kavanagh has
climbed to the top of the elite legal profession through hard
work and a true love of the law. His brilliance shines through in

EPISODE SUMMARY
Season 3, Ep 6: In God We Trust
Kavanagh's former colleague Julia Piper is now married to an
American lawyer and living in the U.S. Kavanagh flies to Florida
to help Julia with the appeal of William Dupret, a convicted
murderer waiting for death on Florida's death row. It appears
that in his first trial Dupret's defence was hopelessly bungled,
and the current hardline state governor, Stamford Cotton, is
determined that the death sentence will be carried out.
