PLOT
For six years, Australian audiences immersed themselves in the
shadowy and volatile world of undercover police work in the
multi-award winning series, Stingers. With a cast that
featured Peter Phelps, Gary Sweet and Kate Kendall, Stingers
portrayed police work like no other Australian-produced
television: gritty, full of action and based on the real-life
experiences of undercover police. In the eighth and final
season, Angie faces personal tragedy, Harris battles drug
addiction and in a shocking turn of events, the unit is left
wondering if Church still has what it takes to play in the
undercover game.
EPISODE SUMMARY
Season 8, Episode 6: No Man's Land
Church goes undercover in an attempt to recover historical
artefacts stolen during the recent war in the Middle East.
When his contact, a television journalist, is almost killed in
a hit and run accident the trail leads back to the Shahuristan
Consulate-where they have no jurisdiction. With some creative
police work the Undercover team manage to infiltrate the
consulate, where they discover that the Consul and his aide
are raising money to fund a military coupe and overthrow the
Shahuristan government. They have to move quickly to prevent a
second attempt on the journalist's life-and then work out how
to bring two people claiming diplomatic immunity to justice.
Meanwhile Angie tries to convince the battered wife of a drug
dealer to inform on her husband but finds herself torn. If he
goes to prison Angie's informant must go into witness
protection where she and her young son will face an uncertain
future.
