ABOUT THE SHOW
Bramwell is a drama series about a woman doctor in late-Victorian
London, and her struggle to gain acceptance in a virtually all-male
profession.
The series was shown in Britain on ITV from 1995 and was subsequently
shown in the US on PBS from 1996 to 2000.
EPISODE SUMMARY
On their way to bid on an old warehouse across from the Thrift,
Eleanor and her father are thrust into the pandemonium of a train
crash in the new underground railroad. In the darkness, Eleanor finds
Peter Mills, a flashily dressed man trapped under the debris of the
disaster. Guided by her father, and in the face of Peter's protests,
Eleanor has to amputate his leg below the knee.
