ABOUT THE SHOW
Bramwell is a drama series about a woman doctor in late-Victorian
London, and her struggle to gain acceptance in a virtually all-male
profession.
The series was shown in Britain on ITV from 1995 and was subsequently
shown in the US on PBS from 1996 to 2000.
EPISODE SUMMARY
A young woman rushed to the Thrift infirmary after an accident is
discovered to be a man in drag who is romantically involved with a
respected surgical equipment supplier. The tragic unfolding of their
relationship opens Eleanor's eyes to a new aspect of human friendship
and devotion.
