Description:
On April 2, 1982, Argentina invaded the Falklands, a tiny
British outpost in the South Atlantic, prompting then-prime
minister Margaret Thatcher to send a naval task force to
liberate the islands. This documentary looks back at the
ensuing conflict, revealing that while Britain may have
won the war, a series of mistakes led the nation close to
defeat. Senior officers from the campaign reveal how
overstretched air defences, poor communications and
simple incompetence sometimes stacked the odds against
the British, while veterans of the bloodiest battles talk
through the fighting.
