DESCRiPTiON
Dispatches is a British television current affairs documentary series on
Channel 4, first transmitted in 1987. The programme covers issues about
British society, politics, health, religion, international current affairs and
the environment.
Michael Crick investigates the booming business in gambling and its impact on
communities. On average a new betting shop opens every week - one London street
has 10 within yards of each other - but not all the locals are happy about it.
Crick hears from a politician who now claims the Government got the gambling
laws wrong, and from those most affected by the spread of bookies.
