PLOT
In the real world the recession is starting to bite deep.
There is a rising tide of more violent crimes, hard hitting
raids on the homes of the new soft targets, the old and rich.
The public feels increasingly at risk and are calling for
tougher action. Series 2 of this critically-acclaimed police
drama sees the Major Crime Squad once again struggling to
outmanoeuvre unknown perpetrators, amidst conflicting
political pressures.
EPISODE SUMMARY
Season 2, Episode 8: In on the Joke
The Majors investigate a con-man linked to the aggravated
burglaries by forensic evidence discovered by Carol and Ian.
The violent thieves have been melting down the stolen gold
jewellery into bricks for easier handling. The Internal
Investigations Department focuses on Peter Faithful because of
a mysterious $20,000 which passed through his bank account.
