Part one of two. Sally and Beth discover a man found badly beaten had
argued with his runaway daughter Lucy the night before. Beth develops a
soft spot for the girl, but can't get much out of her about the incident
and her touchingly protective boyfriend Mark (guest star Joe Absolom)
denies suggestions he might be involved. The family clearly have a lot
to hide and Sally warns Beth not to get personally involved.
