Summary
While watching television, Rigby sees a commercial for the Eggscellent challenge,
which requires the entree to eat a twelve-egg omelet, chili, cheese, biscuits and a
fruit bowl in an hour, with the winner gaining a free meal and a trucker-style hat
that reads "I'm Eggscellent" on it. Rigby wants the hat, so he decides to take the
challenge. The store manager states that the challenge is only promotional, but
Rigby encourages him to give him the omelet. As soon as he eats the omelet, Rigby
passes out and is taken to the hospital. While in the ambulance, Rigby wakes up and
begs Mordecai to win the hat for him. Mordecai promises he will, and Rigby goes into
a comatose state. In the hospital, the doctor tells Mordecai that the chances of
Rigby surviving are slim to none, which triggers Benson into scolding Mordecai and
Rigby for slacking off and eating instead of doing work. Mordecai punches Benson,
and the two get into a fight. Mordecai storms off, and tries to win the Eggscellent
challenge. After many failed attempts, Skips tells Mordecai the tale of a man named
Jonathan Kimble, who trained his life off to win the challenge. By studying his
notebook, Mordecai learns his secrets and eventually wins the challenge, with a
horde of angry waiters trying to prevent him from doing so. As a result of the
challenge, Mordecai is transported to an underground cave, which holds plenty of
golden hats. The knight there tells Mordecai that he must pick the right hat, or he
will die. He then sights Jonathan Kimble's dead corpse, and remembers that Rigby
wanted the trucker hat. Mordecai picks the hat, and is transported out of the lair.
He then places the hat on Rigby, reviving him. Rigby then sees a steak challenge and
wants to participate in that.
