In this thrilling series finale, the prison open day has arrived. Di and
Neil are married but Jim still feels uncomfortable knowing that it's a
marriage of convenience. Yvonne finally realises that her son and
Snowball are setting her up but it's too late as she is carried down the
block by Fenner. Karen & Jim find a planted gun in her bag so put it in
her drawer. After the guests are taken outside by Sylvia and Di, 11:00
comes and Snowball's bomb detonates, seriously injuring Neil who was in
the library - thanks to Roisin's quick thinking, his life was saved.
Snowball, now dressed as a nun, was stopped at the last possible moment
by Karen at the gate and immediately put down the block after being
strip-searched. Sylvia and Jim maliciously put her in the same cell as
Yvonne, and told Yvonne "She's all yours, you've got 5 minutes"! Shaz and
Denny were locked in a visiting room when the bomb detonated and are
trapped - sadly for Shaz, she was too high on magic mushrooms to realise
the danger and wouldn't leave with Denny...I'm almost certain she burned
to death! Karen tells Area management about the gun and about her
relationship with Ritchie, and seemed prepared to take the
consequences!...her and Jim were then horrified to discover that the gun
was gone from her drawer!!! Cassie and Roisin manage to escape but were
burned, while Al, the 3 Julies, Buki and Babs are still trapped in a
smoke filled library, their exit blocked by a burning bookcase - Babs had
cracked her skull and the whole group were slowly suffocating from the
thick smoke fumes!
We'll have to wait until series 5 to discover who has the gun and more
importantly, who survives...!
