competition in Beijing, including athletics, rowing and track
cycling. The men's 100m final is always one of the most eagerly
anticipated Olympic races, and the eight sprinters are aiming to
succeed Justin Gatlin as champion. Kelly Sotherton claimed bronze
in the heptathlon four years ago, but she has her sights set on
gold this time around as she competes in the three remaining
disciplines the long jump, javelin and 800m. British medal hopes
are also high in the rowing and cycling, featuring the men's
points race and Keirin finals at the Laoshan Velodrome and the
men's coxless four at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park.
