Wienerworld are proud to release Jan Akkerman Live In Concert
at The Hague on 19 May 2007 (ACE11129), a high quality CD and
DVD box set complete with booklet and bonus extras. Born in
Holland, guitarist Jan Akkerman first reached world acclaim
in the 1970s when he was seen as the centrepiece of both the
Dutch rock bands Focus and Thijs van Leer. He was voted Best
Guitarist in the World in 1973 by the readers of UK magazine
Melody Maker He released his first single when he was fourteen
years old and was a member of Johnny and The Cellar Rockers,
The Hunters and Brainbox, and joined the Thijs van Leer Trio
in late 1969. They continued under the name Focus and scored
several world hits in the seventies. He went his separate ways
a few years later and continues to tour in the UK and Holland
today. Whether you want to watch Jan live in action or just
play his music in the background, this is a performance not to
be missed.
